2019 Monster Dash

The Monster Dash 5k and 1 Mile Family Fun Run is an exciting fundraising run and event, now in its fourth year; raising money to provide financial assistance to families who are not able to afford after school care for their children.

The race is on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The race has something for everyone. A flat fast course through Downtown Stamford, starting in Columbus Park, two loops around Scalzi Park, and finishing at the Y. It’s a fun, costumed event with judging for best costumes! There’s a 1mile fun run for children and families. A great Halloween post-race party, with festive music and Halloween games and great food.

The Y’s afterschool program, Leadership, Enrichment, Acceptance and Development (LEAD), offers children academic enrichment, homework support, swim lessons, nutrition, fitness, mentoring and college preparation and job skills for children in grades K through 12. The Stamford Y relies on the support from donors to ensure our after school program operations are sustained and families from low-income households are given the opportunity for their children to thrive.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

FRIDAY - 5pm-7pm: Please come to pick up your bib # and t-shirt

SATURDAY

• 7:15 AM: Race Registration, pick up bib #s, t-shirt – inside the Y Lobby
• 7:25 AM: Warm Up Exercises at Columbus Park
• 7:50 AM: Announcements
• 8:00 AM: Race Begins
• Finishers Return to the YMCA Gymnasium for post-race food and fun
• 8:30 AM – 10 AM: Post-Race Event: Race Awards & Costume Awards

Race Fees
Adults $25 / Youth (ages 5 to 18) $12
Children 4 and under: Free
Register as a Supporter

Register as a “supporter” and pay $100 per person for your race entry which includes a 100% tax deductible gift to the Stamford Family YMCA. (supporters receive a small gift as a thank you - if you supported last year and did not pick yours up, please let us know).
